After 35 years as the Vice President of Mining & Energy (formerly Engineering), Dr. Gary Callahan passed the baton to Dr. Lance Roberts. The Board appointed Dr. Roberts as the new Vice President of Mining & Energy effective May 11, 2012.  Dr. Roberts joined RESPEC in June 2011 from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology where he was an Assistant Professor within the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.  Dr. Roberts’ areas of expertise include specialty deep foundation systems, earth retention systems, and slope stabilization for both soil and rock applications.  During his first year with RESPEC, Lance has opened new markets for the company in the areas of asphalt testing, slope stabilization, and foundation design.  Dr. Callahan will continue to assist Lance with transitional issues and serve as a Board member.
