POD, Inc. won an information technologies (IT) services contract from the Idaho state government that makes it one of a select number of go-to IT companies for state agencies.
To manage new business expected from the contract, which takes effect on April 29, Albuquerque-based POD is immediately opening an office in Boise and is hiring between 10 and 20 qualified employees. The contract authorizes POD to perform IT management, software development, project management, and business process consulting for all Idaho state agencies. POD has been working on a project with the Idaho Transportation Department to upgrade motor vehicle software systems since 2006.
POD, created in 1988, is one of New Mexico’s largest IT consulting and service companies. In January 2006, POD became a wholly owned subsidiary of RESPEC, a South Dakota company that provides technical consulting services in engineering, IT, and water & natural resources.
POD manages more than $6 million in contracts with commercial companies; federal, state, and local governmental agencies in Idaho and New Mexico; and the internal corporate network for all of RESPEC’s business lines.
