Water Restoration and Protection Master Contract - RESPEC Assigned First Work Order
Tuesday, 01 February 2011 09:41
RESPEC was awarded its first work order under our Master Services Contract with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) for Watershed Restoration and Protection.   The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires the MPCA to carry out the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program in the state of Minnesota.  Minnesota has an abundance of lakes and river reaches, many of which will require a TMDL study.  In an effort to expedite the completion of TMDL projects, the MPCA has decided to construct watershed models.  These models have the potential to support the simultaneous development of TMDL studies for multiple listings within a cataloging unit or 8-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) watershed.  This first work order for the development of watershed models is for the Sauk River, Crow River (including North Fork), and South Fork Crow River.
