Federal Business Development Manager
RESPEC’s Data and Technology Services business unit (DTS BU) seeks a Federal Business Development Manager to develop and manage business development initiatives to increase market share and profitability. The preferred home location is Albuquerque, NM, but other RESPEC locations will be considered based on the applicant’s qualifications.
Relationship marketing is key to DTS; therefore, Fed BD Manager enters the organization with existing client relationships who possess decision making capabilities. Fed BD Manager develops new partnerships and implements communication strategies to expand our customer base. Working with our Principal Consultants, Fed BD Manager presents clients with comprehensive IT solutions. Proficiency and competency in the complete business development cycle, including finding opportunities, developing RFP’s/RFIs, development of costing projections, negotiating, responding to BAFOS and executing contracts is required. Prepares, presents, and matures opportunities using Internal Business Development and Capture Management Processes. Represents RESPEC at industry events.
Manager develops and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other business unit development professionals, capture team members, client executives, proposal managers, and program management teams to ensure effective, efficient, and integrated implementation of capture strategies. Participates in the annual business plan development process. Leveraging existing contacts, identifies partnering opportunities to procure/pursue federal contracts.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties:
Leads proposal and Sources Sought/RFI responses including writing content
Provides Subject Matter Expertise on Federal contracting to executive leadership and peer managers
Maintains and further develops network of business development contacts at Federal agencies and/or with partners- resulting in successful prime contract wins and wins with partners (Small business, 8A, HUBZONE, Mentor Protégé, etc.)
Develops and tracks budgets to ensure positive gross margin
Develops successful pricing strategies, identifies risks, and interprets solicitation requirements and develops win strategies
Works with marketing team to prepare for exhibitions, conferences and other, industry events
Perform public speaking engagements and/or volunteers to support external organizations and committees regarding public relations, marketing and development
Works with other business development managers to help secure business in the state/local government and commercial markets
10 years of directly applicable Federal business development experience
Demonstrated end-to-end federal / RFI experience
Strong communication, leadership and collaboration skills
Excellent proposal writing skills
Salary depends on experience and expertise.
