Civil CAD Drafter/Technician
Job Description: RESPEC, a nationally recognized engineering consulting company, has an opening for a designer/drafter in the Water & Natural Resources Division in the Denver, Colorado, office. The Water & Natural Resources Division projects generally are in the areas of drainage and flood control.
Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide drafting and plan-reproduction services for engineers during the planning, design, and construction plan phases for a variety of engineering projects. The work will focus on drainage, storm sewer design, flood control, stream restoration, detention ponds, bridge scour, and planning studies. Tasks that are required to complete include all steps to take the plans from survey to final design (including preparing construction drawings using AutoCAD and some MicroStation while using multiple client standards, as well as develop details and erosion-control plans). The candidate must be able to work from plan mark-ups, sketched information, and verbal direction. Additional tasks will include preparing presentation materials and graphics for project development, meetings, report figures, quantities, and report.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of multiple project managers (engineers) and with other technicians. Some work may be performed with project managers (engineers) in other offices. The candidate must be able to work independently and with others while working on multiple projects concurrently and have strong time-management skills.
Qualifications: The potential candidate must have an associate’s degree from an accredited college/university or completed technical trade-school courses, or equivalent experience. At least 4–8 years of experience in using AutoCAD Civil3D in the field of civil engineering is required. Strong technical knowledge of MicroStation, InRoads, and GIS are a plus. The candidate should be competent in using MS Office (Word, Excel and Adobe) and have good written and oral communication skills.

Work Schedule: Full-time position involving 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Compensation: Salary depends on experience.
