Mining and Energy Engineer

Job Description: A nationally recognized engineering consulting company seeks an experienced engineer to assist with the growth of a mining and energy business. The company specializes in the application and research and development of technology to solve problems for our clients. The successful candidate will work with other engineers or directly with clients in the area of finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling associated with geotechnical applications. Additional components of this job will include engineering design, general problem solving, technical report writing, and project management. Typical projects will include thermal-hydro-mechanical modeling of subsurface excavations in rock, engineering design of geotechnical tools and technologies, and interpretation of laboratory testing results.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, geological, or related engineering field. Preference will be given to individuals with an advanced degree (Master of Science). The candidate must have proven interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and project experience. Knowledge of numerical modeling (e.g., FEA and CFD) is required. Additional desirable qualifications include computer programming experience (e.g., C++, Python, VB) and high-performance computing.

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and education.
