Job Description: RESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting and services company with domestic and international projects, seeks a Drill and Blast Engineer for the Explosives Engineering group in its Lexington, Kentucky office. RESPEC’s current mining projects focus on limestone, coal, salt and phosphates. Both domestic and international travel will be required for client development, visits to client mine sites, and for client and corporate meetings.  This position includes the following responsibilities:

/          Drill and blast consulting

/          Drill and blast instrumentation, data collection and analysis

/          Blast optimization

/          International travel

/          Training and other presentations

/          Business development

Qualifications: The successful candidate is expected to have the following qualifications:

/          Master of Science degree in Explosives Engineering, Mining Engineering, or another associated field,

/          Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE), or pursuing registration,

/          5 to 10 years’ experience in engineering and field operations

/          The proven ability to work with a strong technical team

/          Current legal ability to live and work in the US.

In addition, the candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package comprising of medical, vision, dental, holidays, paid leave, 401(k) plan, ESOP, continuing education, and professional societies.
