Water Resources Engineering Student Intern

DENVER, COLORADO

Job Description:  A nationally recognized engineering consulting firm has an opening for an engineering intern in the Water Resources Division in the Denver, Colorado, office.  The Water Resources Division projects generally are in the areas of stormwater drainage and flood control.  Primary responsibilities will include administrative support; assistance with engineering reports, marketing materials, construction documents, AutoCAD drafting, Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis, and minor engineering calculations; and other duties assigned.  Some travel will be associated with the position. The successful candidate will work under the direction of multiple project managers and engineers. 

Qualifications:  The successful candidate should be an engineering student in civil, environmental, or a related field.  The candidate should have strong computer skills, especially in using spreadsheets.  AutoCAD and/or GIS experience is beneficial but not necessary.  The candidate must have proven interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Work Schedule:  Temporary part-time position involving a minimum of 12 hours per week, Monday through Friday during the school year. And, 30 to 40 hours per week over the summer.

Compensation:  $14 to $16 per hour, depending on experience, plus statutory insurance requirements.
