Job Description

The position requires a demonstrated working knowledge of engineering principles and business practices to successfully plan and execute a diverse range of engineering projects. The primary focus of this position will be mining projects involving lithium, limestone, coal, salt, potash, phosphates, and other industrial and critical minerals. 

The staff mining engineer will support both surface and underground projects for mining companies and work with a team of engineers and geologists on multiple projects concurrently.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Mining, or Geological/Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in mining operations, with exposure to both underground and open-pit environments
• Proficiency in mining-related software such as Deswik, Carlson, Surpac, Vulcan, and other commercial packages
• Understanding of mine design, planning, and scheduling methodologies
