Project Manager

Job Description

The qualified Project Manager maintains project file documents, tracks construction progress, issues change request (CR) approvals, maintains project financial data, and updates contracts as needed. The Project Manager also prepares contract documentation, including statements of work and CRs, as well as coordinates with and manages external contractors on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple projects from planning to implementation using industry best practices in Project Management Institute (PMI) following Agile methodologies
  • Creates long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Delegates project tasks to the employees best positioned to complete them and for accountability
  • Successfully executes, manages, and provides oversight on a major government contract providing Information Technology (IT) support
  • Provides fiscal reporting on projects, including earned value and cost to complete
  • Exercises responsibility for planning, organizing, leading, and directing activities through a team of employees engaged in providing a  broad range IT engineering disciplines engaged in research and technology, design, development, and operations
  • Oversees short- and long-range planning and innovations for the contract and corporate activity
  • Manages and oversees human resource programs and fiscal matters
  • Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Ensures company activities are administered within contract provisions and company policy

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT or computer sciences-related program
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to talk to people at multiple levels within the organization and with federal clients
  • Team player with the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with internal and client project stakeholders, colleagues, and technical team members
  • Knowledge of technology system development lifecycles and methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile Project Management Professional (
  • Strong people-management skills, including the ability to manage highly skilled teams of varying sizes
  • Ability to handle a multi-customer, multi-user consolidated contract
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated management capability
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communications
  • Demonstrated expertise in principles, fundamentals, and practices in IT support services
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Strong skills in information systems planning and applications
  • Effective interaction and diplomacy skills
  • Ability to manage projects and groups of personnel at multiple locations
  • Skills in Agile Methodology tools such as DevOps (An Azure product)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of IT contract management experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of government experience in a similar position
  • 3 years of managing employees
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Past Project Manager for a government IT support services program
  • Management of up to 20 employees in a government contract environment

Compensation:  Salary depends on experience and expertise. Benefits offered through WTE.
