Parks and Trails
RESPEC’s Community Design Solutions team supports public and private clients in their goals to revitalize parks, restore trails, protect waterways, and transform reclamation sites. Our designs preserve the habitat, contribute functionality, and foster the natural beauty of outdoor community spaces. RESPEC’s design strategy uses environmental engineering for natural enhancements and makes minimal impacts wherever possible. We support the development of public park lands with improvements to recreational multiuse trails, park amenities, and related water facilities and features.
RESPEC’s multidisciplinary civil engineering team works closely with our hydrology and environmental engineers to create solutions that combine aesthetics, science, and practicality. For 30 years, our staff members have applied solutions to add value to diverse park sites and concrete and soft surface trails. RESPEC takes on challenging opportunities to combine ecological restoration with multiple community benefits. Past projects include engineering for numerous public parks and private land developments, wetlands, and river systems. A major preservation project involved the historic restoration of an abandoned gold mine converted to a public park.
RESPEC’s professional engineers assist clients in rigorous planning, design, and construction of new and existing sites. Our technical expertise also includes layout, evaluation, coordination, contractor selection, pro forma and costing assistance, site preparation, and inspection.
We rely on precise scientific data and engineering analysis as a basis for successful outcomes. Experienced in land development, RESPEC’s team is familiar with the permitting process and adheres to strict budgets and schedules to completion.
RESPEC’s multidisciplinary team fully engages its collective knowledge and experience to support the stewards and developers of outdoor spaces with aesthetic and functional solutions that protect the natural setting and improve the community’s quality of life.
