The American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) American Advertising Awards (ADDY Awards) are one of the industry’s largest creative competitions and attract nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year through local club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in advertising.
Along with more than 200 clubs around the country, the AAF Black Hills American Advertising Awards competition is the first part of a three-tiered national competition conducted annually by the AAF. Entries that receive the coveted Gold ADDY for being recognized at the highest level of creative excellence are automatically forwarded on to the next competition tier. Other entries that deserve recognition for their outstanding levels of excellence are awarded a Silver ADDY.
The Black Hills ADDY Awards, which was attended by local marketing professionals from marketing agencies and in-house marketing teams, celebrated homegrown talent and recognized work ranging from product packaging to print collateral to film editing.
RESPEC submitted two marketing pieces to the competition that were produced and published in 2019—the 2018 Annual Report and the 50th Anniversary book. These pieces received the highest recognition for creative excellence, the Gold ADDY award, and were forwarded on to the regional tier of the competition.
