Woodmen Hills Metropolitan District Water & Wastewater Systems

RESPEC began working with Woodmen Hills Metropolitan District in 2002 on a project involving pond baffling problems in a newly constructed wastewater lagoon system. RESPEC provided design, bidding, and construction administration to implement a solution. Since then, RESPEC and the District have collaborated on hundreds of small and large projects.

Groundwater, Growth, and Pressures on Local Water Utilities

The District serves an unincorporated area that relies entirely on groundwater. Nearly 20 deep aquifer wells—some extending close to half a mile deep—supply all water demands. The District operates under evolving state and federal regulations, shallow groundwater conditions, and governance by a rotating board of local residents. Engineering decisions must balance compliance, cost, and clarity for nontechnical decision-makers.

RESPEC has provided ongoing engineering support for the District’s water and wastewater systems, including planning, design, replacement of instrastructure, such as pump stations, treatment facilities, storage tanks, lift stations, and pipelines.e. Design decisions have prioritized long-term performance and regulatory compliance.
