Environmental Compliance in Louisville, Colorado
In 2019, the City of Louisville Colorado selected RESPEC to provide environmental compliance consulting services, with a focus on managing programs for industrial pretreatment, fats, oil, and grease, as well as stormwater management. We conducted surveys, reviewed reports, and identified any noncompliance with wastewater discharge permits.
After the Marshall Fire heavily impacted the city in 2021, RESPEC provided additional support for recovery efforts, assisting with the Backflow Prevention and Cross-Connection Control program and various other pollution control programs. We also helped respond to a discharge containing polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which was quickly identified and remediated with the aid of local contractors. RESPEC provided the City of Louisville with guidance on how to handle, sample, and dispose of the discharge properly and worked closely with the state and city to ensure proper communication and compliance with state and federal regulations.
By providing environmental compliance consulting services, RESPEC helps protect the city’s natural resources and ensure a sustainable future. This impact is the kind we aim for with all our partnerships.
