Fairbanks International Airport Master Plan Update

2016
Fairbanks, Alaska
Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities

RESPEC worked closely with the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF), airport management staff, the Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) East Side Working Group, airline representatives, and local pilots to prepare a 20-year development plan to meet the needs of a diverse user group. As part of public outreach, RESPEC developed and analyzed a survey for Fairbanks-area pilots. This survey was sent to more than 1,000 registered aircraft owners and generated 184 responses. The planning team is using these responses to develop new general aviation facilities that reflect their users’ needs and priorities while integrating smoothly with the airport’s commercial passenger and cargo service functions.
