New Mexico Cultural Resource Information System (NMCRIS)
RESPEC is developing a fully functional Cultural Resource Information System (CRIS) for the State Historical Preservation Office (SHPO). Among the activities to deliver this system were the joint application design and discovery sessions with the agency, which led to the development of NMCRIS workflows. From there, work began developing an NMCRIS, a modern enterprise CRIS. It is a web-based application with a centralized database and Esri ArcGIS integrated solution.
The NMCRIS platform is a modular-designed system used by New Mexico SHPO staff and their external stakeholders. NMCRIS is a legacy modernization project, meaning RESPEC took the existing Microsoft Access project that SHPO relied on and transformed it into a modern application. The system allows for digital submissions and requests by external users. SHPO staff can access digital submissions to perform record searches and process requests. New Mexico SHPO is a small team, and this application will help them streamline operations and improve the quality of service they provide to their external stakeholders.
