Keeping Systems Healthy So Care Remains the Focus
At WCHS, maintaining patient care required a transition from the Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) to a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform. Clinical staff had relied on RPMS for years. Replacing it introduced risk to intake, prescribing, lab reporting, and regulatory submissions. These functions operate continuously and cannot pause for system instability. The transition required structured system support to manage updates, security controls, and incident response in the background so providers could focus on patient care rather than software behavior.
Migration and Continued Support
During the transition, RESPEC maintained the legacy RPMS while migrating clinical data into the new EHR so providers retained uninterrupted access to patient records. The team coordinated with the EHR vendor to validate data integrity before go-live.
Following cutover, RESPEC continued supporting both the legacy RPMS environment and the new EHR. The team manages patch planning and execution, resolves break-fix issues, and conducts continual monitoring in coordination with on-site staff. Daily log reviews and ITSM-based incident tracking identify trends and reduce repeat failures.
Performance reviews, system updates, and security monitoring occur after hours to avoid disruption to intake, prescribing, reporting, and regulatory workflows.
