Job Description

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Software Developer 2 to support a major Texas Health and Human Services technology initiative in Austin, Texas. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications that support critical business operations and public services. The ideal candidate will bring strong full-stack development experience, a collaborative mindset, and expertise working within Agile software development environments.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, modify, and maintain complex enterprise software applications.

  • Write, test, debug, and optimize application code using modern development practices.

  • Develop and maintain application components including:

    • Angular front-end applications

    • C# and ASP.NET services and applications

    • Oracle database objects, triggers, and stored procedures

  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and troubleshooting activities.

  • Create test data, test scripts, and execute testing plans.

  • Analyze and resolve production issues, application defects, and performance concerns.

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, UX designers, technical support teams, and project stakeholders.

  • Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with development standards and best practices.

  • Analyze requirements for new systems and application enhancements.

  • Provide regular project status updates to project managers and team leads.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and system documentation.

  • Assist with implementation, deployment, training, and knowledge transfer activities.

Qualifications

Required Technical Experience:

Candidates must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

7+ Years of Experience Required

  • Computer programming, analysis, and development of complex business processes and enterprise system solutions.

  • Coding, testing, debugging, and supporting applications in development and production environments.

  • Designing program logic, system architecture, and technical specifications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of Information Technology industry trends and emerging technologies.

  • Understanding of architectural concepts, principles, frameworks, and tools.

  • Data integrity, information security, and technology governance best practices.

  • Delivering solutions using Agile and/or Scrum methodologies.

Required Technical Skills:

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ Years of Experience Preferred

  • Familiarity with enterprise information architecture and information management methodologies.

  • Familiarity with software architecture frameworks and infrastructure components within large organizations.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday

  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time

  • Occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work may be required based on project needs.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid

  • Candidates must be available to work onsite in Austin when required.

  • The client will determine onsite work schedules.

  • Remote work may be permitted based on project requirements.

Selected candidates must successfully complete:

  • Criminal background investigation conducted within six months prior to onboarding.
