Professional Civil Engineer

Bozeman, MT - W-Water & Environment

Job Description:  RESPEC, a nationally recognized engineering consulting firm, has an immediate opening in our Bozeman, Montana location for a civil engineer specializing in water resources. This position involves hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modeling, and progressive planning and design of water resource projects. Interdisciplinary work with environmental science staff is also anticipated.

Qualifications:  The successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in civil or environmental engineering (or related engineering discipline), and a minimum of 5 years consulting engineering experience. The candidate must have proven interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills. Expertise in hydraulic analysis and modeling, development of technical reports and memos. and civil and water resources engineering design and construction plan preparation is desired. Additional preferred qualifications include:

  • P.E. certification; or ability to become a P.E. within 6 – 9 months of start date
  • Coursework in hydrology and hydraulics
  • Experience in drainage analysis, planning, and design
  • Experience in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, including development and manipulation of DEMs and other digital surface/terrain models
  • Experience developing construction technical specifications
  • Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SMS/SRH2D hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software
  • Working knowledge of GIS
  • Surveying
  • Construction observation experience
  • Some project management experience

Compensation:  Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package that consists of medical, vision, dental, holidays, paid leave, 401(k) Plan, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), continuing education, and professional societies.
