Controls Engineer

Fairbanks, AK - F-Facilities

RESPEC, is seeking a full time Controls Engineer to join our full-service engineering team! We design innovative world-class projects utilizing state-of-the-art technologies.

The successful candidate’s primary duties will include instrumentation & controls (I&C) design, piping & instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development, preventative maintenance, quality control, control system network architecture design, site visits for investigations and inspections, and functional checkout proof testing implementation. Projects span a broad range of facilities and utilities applications in commercial, institutional, and industrial settings.

This is a full-time position involving 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday during normal business hours (8:00 to 5:00). Overtime can be expected when project workload demands it.

Qualifications: 

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related discipline
  • Professional Engineer License in Control Systems or Electrical Engineering
  • 10 years of consulting and/or project management experience
  • Experience with P&ID development
  • Experience with field instrument, control system, and control panel design
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage contracts on multiple projects concurrently
  • Detail oriented & well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • AutoCAD & Civil 3D proficiency is a plus.
  • Control system programming experience is a plus

Compensation: Salary will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
