Job Description

We design innovative world-class projects using state-of-the-art technologies. This is a hands-on design position in the Facilities Market Sector and will include design projects for not only facilities but also site and road improvements. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work within the Autodesk Civil 3D environment to develop site drawings and models for civil site improvements, roadways, and utility infrastructure.
  • Prepare construction plans, design calculations, specifications, bid documents, and cost estimates.
  • Perform site visits and inspections at various locations across the state of Alaska.
  • Prepare design calculations, written reports, and project presentations.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, proactively collaborating with team members and clients to resolve technical challenges.
  • Track work progress within established scopes and schedules and alert project managers of any issues that may affect them.
  • Prepare clear and concise written communications and participate in client and team meetings.
  • Conduct research and assist in writing proposals to assist in bringing in new work.
  • Support other market sectors on design projects as workload dictates.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training who can obtain a P.E. license
  • 2 to 4 years of experience 
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD & Civil 3D
  • Solid knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
  • Experience in preparing plans and design calculations for transportation, utility, and site improvements
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or on a team
  • Detail oriented and well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong professional work ethic
