Water Quality Monitoring

RESPEC has a long track record of providing water-quality technical support to federal, state, local, and private clients across the country. We assess water bodies, evaluate impairments, and compare water quality to applicable criteria. Our team also monitors ecological health to evaluate whether a designated use is being attained or is impaired.

RESPEC has extensive experience in developing water-quality standards and criteria, developing Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs), and evaluating and writing point-source permits. Our expertise is used in both water-quality field services and water-quality/watershed modeling. We have successfully developed many watershed implementation plans that incorporate the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Nine Key Elements of Watershed Plans, and we have completed or participated in watershed restoration and protection plans and have implemented recommended BMPs. Our experienced project specialists are familiar with a wide variety of land uses, including urban, irrigated cropland, and rangeland.
