Fire Protection EIT
Job Description
Duties and responsibilities:
- Works on multiple projects simultaneously, proactively collaborating with team members and clients to resolve technical challenges
- Document fire protection design requirements in engineering reports and feasibility studies.
- Supports other market sectors on design projects as workload dictates
- Prepares clear and concise written communications and participate in client and team meetings
- Conducts site visits across Alaska to review and document facilities and project progress
- Assist in designing fire suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems, and smoke control systems.
- Provide construction support, review submittals, and conduct acceptance testing.
- Support senior engineers in project planning and execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in fire protection engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field, from an ABET-accredited program
- Passed the FE exam, and eligible to apply for EIT certification through the Alaska State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers, and Land Surveyors, working towards PE licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire protection engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations
- Experience in fire protection design software and tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel)
- Developed technical writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel to other locations within Alaska up to 2 times monthly
Preferred qualifications include the following:
AutoCAD and REVIT 3D experience
