The Human Resources Specialist contributes to RESPEC’s performance by providing integration and coordinating efforts for both new and current employees through managing aspects of the end-to-end employee experience. This role helps drive engagement and retention, including providing coordination support for potential candidates, assisting with compensation analyses, organizing employee data, assisting with new hire onboarding, engaging in hands on daily, quarterly, and annual operational tasks, and collaboration with HR Business Partners to assist on operational needs. The HR Specialist will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent acquisition; employee relations, policy review, performance and compensation collaboration, and talent management. The HR Specialist will be expected to exhibit key components of PACT and work towards identifying process improvement opportunities with current HR processes.

What you’ll be doing/job responsibilities:

  • Partnering with HR team members to help align HR strategy to business strategy
  • Prepare and execute communication plans for key operations initiatives or events
  • Write, create, and distribute internal communications such as emails, business updates, all employee meeting presentations, and announcements
  • Assists with coordination and engagement activities
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to support internal stakeholders to assist operational needs in areas such as process documentation and market sector job descriptions and job postings
  • Process pre- and post-employment paperwork
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and sensitive employee files and HRIS Systems
  • Respond to employee queries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide ongoing data management in employment records with hires, transfers, and terminations
  • Help educate new employees on certain technologies and policies to ensure smooth transitions
  • Maintains confidentiality, fosters positive relationships, and keeps up-to-date with technology
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • SHRM-CP or HRCI preferred
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in the following areas:
    • Supporting projects which impact the business at an enterprise level
    • Implementing staff data changes in various technology platforms/systems
  • Experience with statistical analysis would be considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to set high personal goals and work with minimal oversight
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Basic knowledge of employment labor laws
  • Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated and highly detail oriented
  • Must be able to handle multi-tasking with the ability to comprehend complex processes
  • Ability to be highly flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic and often ambiguous environment
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
