RESPEC provided the electrical, mechanical, and structural design for the fast-paced construction of a state-of-the-art operating room within an existing second-floor hospital. The hybrid operating room features ceiling-mounted, boom-arm utilities and C-arm medical imaging equipment in a combined operating and catheterization suite. New air handlers, cooling equipment, isolation power systems, and structural reinforcement were retrofitted and routed into the existing space to meet the strict operational tolerances of the equipment.

The hybrid operating room remodel continued RESPEC’s contribution to modernizing the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) facilities. Our other work has included expanding and upgrading the mother and baby labor and delivery rooms, critical-care nursery, emergency and fast-track departments, and pre- and post-surgery support spaces, as well as growing the critical care unit by 50 percent. We have completed upgrades including improvements to security systems, LED lighting, ventilation system redistribution and expansion systems, and isolation rooms, as well as support for patient lift systems.
