Accounting Clerk
Job Description
RESPEC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting clerk to join our finance team in our Rapid City, SD location. This role will support core accounting operations with a focus on accounts payable, client billing (U.S. and Canada), and project setup. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to accuracy and process improvement.
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Support ACH/EFT payment processing and vendor onboarding
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure billing accuracy
- Support Canadian subsidiary billing and tax compliance
- Create and maintain project records in the accounting system
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate budget and billing setup
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
- Experience with U.S. and Canadian billing practices preferred
- Understanding of foreign currency exchange rates preferred
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Additional Information
Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
